Section 20
Rights of Children with Disabilities
: (1) Children with disabilities shall have the right to ensure their value, dignity, promote self-reliance, participate actively in society and lead a dignified life.
(2) Children with disabilities shall have the right to integrate into society and receive opportunities for education, training, health, nursing services, rehabilitation services, employment preparation and entertainment for their personal development.
(3) Children with disabilities shall have the right to express their views on matters affecting them on the same basis as other children and their views shall be given due respect based on their age and maturity.
(4) Children with disabilities shall not be separated from their home and family because of their disability, unless ordered by the court for their best interests.
(5) The Government of Nepal shall make appropriate arrangements in terms of curriculum, textbooks and teaching learning to address the learning needs of children with intellectual disabilities, mental disabilities, autism, cerebral palsy or hearing-impaired.
(6) Children with disabilities shall have the right to special protection as prescribed.
